New Kitchen in Brisbane
We have opened up another kitchen for the Commercial Cookery students to have their practical lessons. This new kitchen will be open to students by mid-late July 2019. The address is451 Fairfield Road, Yeronga. The great thing about this kitchen is that it will be much closer to Brisbane (15-20min) and the train line is a couple of hundred meters away. I have attached the new kitchen photos for your viewing.
Improving SERO
We have implemented a new strategy to improve the quality of training that is being delivered. One of the many improvement is to ensure that the students are well informed with the level of English required for their VET courses so that they can be confident to undergo their studies and complete it.
I have attached the following for new students enrolling with Sero:
- Cutting Edge Placement test (explanation of the testing is on the first page) ? 50 minutes
- Listening files: starter, ele, pre-int,int, up-int levels
Total test time = 1 hr and 30 mins
The main test and listening can be done off-campus, however, the newly implemented writing and speaking components will be done on campus, during their visitation of the school or after Orientation.
Should the student decide to take the test off campus, please ensure that the student completes these tests at your agency. This is to prevent listening to the questions over and over to get the answers correct and/or searching for the answers on the internet.
The writing component given to student(s) along with the main test and the speaking component will be assessed by the head teacher in each of the following campuses.
