We are pleased to share with you that UMC High School has been approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education to welcome international students for the 2020-2021 school year. Our school is listed on the Ministry website as a DLI (Designated Learning Institution) with approved COVID-19 plans and can provide in-person teaching and instruction for international students this school year: http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/parents/welcoming_international_students.html
UMC High School is ready to accept students to arrive in Canada and study in person at our Main Campus, provided that students have a valid study permit, and pledge to comply with the COVID-19 protocols that require a 14 day self-isolation and a COVID test prior to attending school.
Our COVID-19 readiness plan has been approved by both the Ontario Ministry of Education and Public Health to protect the health and safety of all the students and the community, and includes detailed plans on how we oversee and manage the mandatory 14-day quarantine period for international students, such as arrangements for transportation to the students quarantine location. In addition, we are prepared to support international students with homestay arrangements, fresh meals, health insurance, arrangement to receive a COVID test, and support with remaining healthy while in Canada.
Students who would like to travel to Canada and attend UMC High School in person are now able to plan for their arrival. Please contact your UMC High School Student Counsellor to receive the student information package which contains all detailed information. The UMC Student Pledge and all required documents must be submitted before travelling to Canada, including confirmation of homestay arrangement.
We look forward to welcoming you in person to our school and helping you achieve your academic goals!
