학교소개 및 특징	"퍼듀 대학교(Purdue University)는 1869년 라피엣의 사업가인 John Perdue가 토지과 자금 및 지역주민들이 기부한 토지와 자금을 기반으로 인디애나주의 주립대학(Land-grant University)로 설립되었습니다. 6개의 캠퍼스로 이루어져 있는 인디애나주 주립대학교군인 Purdue University System의 본교(Flagship University)로 인디애나주 웨스트 라피엣에 위치하며, Purdue University System에는 본교이외에 인디애나-퍼듀대학교 인디애나폴리스 캠퍼스(Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis), 인디애나-퍼듀대학교 콜럼버스 캠퍼스(Indiana University - Purdue University Columbus), 인디애나-퍼듀대학교 포트웨인 캠퍼스(Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne), 퍼듀대학교 캘루멧 캠퍼스(Purdue University Calumet), 퍼듀대학교 노스센트럴 캠퍼스(Purdue University North Central)가 있습니다. 농과대학(College of Agriculture), 교육대학(College of Education), 공과대학(College of Engineering), 보건 및 공공서비스대학(College of Health and Human Sciences), 인문대학(College of Liberal Arts), 경영대학(Krannert School of Management), 약학대학(College of Pharmacy), 과학대학(College of Science), 기술대학(College of Technology), 수의과대학(School of Veterinary Medicine) 등으로 구성되어 있으며, 보건 및 공공서비스대학 내에 소비 및 가정대학(College of Consumer and Family Sciences) 보건대학(College of Health Sciences), 간호대학(School of Nursing)이 있습니다. 현재 200여 개 이상의 다양한 학부 및 대학원 전공과정을 제공하고 있으며, 모든 교육과정이 우수하나 특히 미국에서 가장 큰 규모인 공학대학와 농업대학이 유명하며, 더불어 경영대학, 교육대학, 보건대학, 약학대학 등도 잘 알려졌습니다. 공대의 경우 항공우주학, 기계학, 전기전자공학은 미국 내 전공별 순위에서 Top 5에 꼽히고 있으며, 항공조종학과 역시 매우 우수하며, 그 중에서도 항공 및 우주공학 관련 프로그램은 세계 최고 수준으로 인정받아, 퍼듀는 정규 항공 훈련 프로그램을 세계 최초로 제공하였으며, 항공학에서 최초로 4년제 학위를 수여하였고, 처음으로 대학에 공항을 세우기도 하는 등 미국의 항공 및 우주 기술 발달에 큰 영향을 미친 대학으로 평가 되어 현재까지 22명의 우주비행사를 비롯하여 다수의 우주공학 기술 요원들을 배출하면서 미국항공우주국 NASA와 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있다. 이와 더불어 현재 화학과, 신문방송학과, 컴퓨터공학과, 약대 등도 유명합니다. 중소도시에 위치하고 있어 조용하고 쾌적한 학업 및 생활환경이 조성되어 있으며, 안전하고 우호적인 분위기가 형성되어 습니다. 또한 미국 50개주 전역, 전 세계 130여 개국에서 온 학생들이 함께 공부하고 있어 다양하고 풍부한 문화적인 체험의 기회가 제공되며 더불어 주립대학으로 학비가 저렴한 편이며 다양한 장학금 및 보조금을 받을 수 있는 기회도 많은 편이나, 학생들 사이에서 졸업하기 힘든 학교 중에 하나라고 할만큼 열심히 공부하고 참여하며 연구해야 하는 대학입니다.
