2019 - what a year!
It has been another productive and eventful year for us at Stafford House and with your help we have gone from strength to strength!
With Christmas and the New Year fast approaching we felt it was a time to reflect on some of the highlights of 2019 and look forward to the coming year and all the exciting plans we have in store!

Chicago refurbishment
We started off the year in great fashion with a complete refurbishment of our school in Chicago. The redesign has brought the school in line with the modern, bright and meticulously designed interiors of our other schools across the world, with open spaces, plenty of light, a spacious student lounge and plenty of areas to relax between class.
Throw in a nicely appointed kitchen and our students are well catered for!

Canterbury refurbishment
Not content to refurbish just one of our schools last year we also refreshed our fantastic school in Canterbury! Perfectly located at just five minutes walk from the main high street, our Canterbury school has a vibrant, fresh and open feel to the facilities. The school features a student lounge, many areas to study and relax, a student kitchen, plus the added benefit of an outside courtyard.
Our centre video demonstrates what a special destination Canterbury is with its large student population, rich history, beautiful medieval city-centre and location in the heart of the Kent countryside. Canterbury really is perfect to study in!
Professional Certificates launched in London & Toronto
In 2019 we started offering our industry renowned Professional Certificate Programmes in London and Toronto! These courses proved such a success in our US schools that we had to bring them to our other great locations!
Certificates are offered in Marketing, Business Management and Project Management and allow students to learn from experienced teachers, local business leaders and new entrepreneurs as they share their experience and insight of the business world. These courses are great for students who want to to learn business skills in a Canadian, British or American setting, build professional networks and gain a certificate to enhance their professional resume.

Following the success of our Professional Certificate Programmes in London and Toronto, we will be launching them at our Brighton school from January 2020, giving students the opportunity to learn English and grow professionally in the UK's coolest seaside town! With Professional Certificates now available in 7 of our schools worldwide it has never been easier to study these exciting courses in your destination of choice!
Because of the popularity of our Professional Certificates, 2020 will see us expand upon our current offerings with new, innovative certificates!

Stafford House Discover - launching 2020!
In 2020 we will start offering students Stafford House’s innovative online Discover Programme!
Students will be able explore their city and school of choice with custom-made videos and interactive exercises that bring out the best of what each school has to offer, and best of all it's completely free!
Offering ten online programmes, one for each school, and full of beautifully designed, mobile-ready English practice, students learn about their destination from the people who know it best, the staff themselves!

2019 has been another busy year for Stafford House Summer ? it has been particularly special as we celebrated our 25th anniversary. Our Director Ruth Fenton, who has been with us since the very beginning, was also recognised for her hard work and dedication when she was presented with a
Lifetime Achievement Award for women in international education from Lead 50/50 at ICEF Berlin in November.
2020 looks set to be another great year with a new centre at Dover College in the UK and Calgary in Canada. Dover College will host a year round integration programme as well as a summer school. Next year will also see us working closely with our partner schools CATS Colleges and Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts on their wide range of high quality creative and academic courses for individuals- for more information please contact us.
Michael Owen's Red Star School
We are very excited to be running a new football course in partnership with Michael Owen at our Summer schools in Woodcote in 2020. The course features 15 hours of coaching a week and was written exclusively for Stafford House Summer by football legend Michael Owen and will be delivered by ex-Liverpool Captain and England International Mark Wright, alongside other fully qualified and experienced coaches.
Each weekly training course will include surprise visits by other footballing legends, and opportunities will be available for all students to train with the players as well as taking photos and receiving signed gifts. The course will also include an excursion to the new ?1 billion Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Click on the video to hear Michael Owen himself introduce the course!
Classic Plus Rugby
We are proud to announce that former professional Rugby Union player, Glenn Gelderbloom will be head coach for our Classic Plus Rugby course at Oakham School in the UK in summer 2020!
Glenn has a huge wealth of Rugby experience, having won two English Premiership titles with Leicester Tigers
in the UK and having played for Border Bull Dogs and Western Province in South Africa. If your young learners want to improve their English and their game, this course is the course for them!
New for 2020 - Calgary Summer Centre
We are pleased to be able to offer Calgary as a group summer destination in the coming year! Ideal for students who love the outdoors, Calgary is surrounded by some of the most breathtaking natural beauty in the world. It’s safe, clean, modern and prosperous.

San Francisco Career Preparation Activity:
Our San Francisco school offers our unique Career Preparation Activity which gives students a fantastic opportunity to gain global professional experience from a range of prestigious companies. Students will develop their resume and interview skills, practice English in the American workplace and progress with confidence towards their career goals!
Our students have had some great experiences taking our Career Preparation Activity, getting to know the American working style, building relationships with colleagues, and learning more about beautiful San Francisco. CPA students in San Francisco study full time at the school and spend time after class applying their English in real settings. Our students do placements in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, Social Services, and Tourism.

In recruitment we have been busy finding knowledgeable and dynamic teachers who will help your students grow in confidence and leave Stafford House with lots of new language to use.
Our activity leaders are not only specialists in sports, arts, drama and music but are also keen to share their love of speaking English.
Our experienced managers are there to ensure your group leaders are well looked after and have all the information they need. There are plenty of returning staff and familiar faces for those who have visited us before.
Our Operations team are working non-stop to organise exciting activities and excursions for your students. Our drumming, drama and samba workshops have been booked and shiny new sports equipment is ready to go! We now have even more excursion materials such as new walking tours for many destinations which will really help everyone to get the most out of their visits!
