We are delighted to be able to announce several exciting changes to our General English Juniors Courses. Firstly, our General English Juniors Course will now be available all year-round in 2020 at certain centres, rather than only at set times of year! This was previously the case in 2017 but following recent updated legal advice, we are very pleased to be able to offer this option again in 2020.
Students aged 14-15 will be able to study all year, for up to 16 weeks, at Giles Eastbourne, Cambridge and London Highgate. The course includes 28 lessons per week in classes of students aged under 18, as well as three social and leisure activities per week. The price remains the same as previously stated in our 2020 Fees and Dates brochure.
Secondly, we are also pleased to announce that we are now able to offer a week-day full board option at our homestays for students aged 14-15. During the week they can receive breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus breakfast and dinner at the weekend. The prices for this optional package are available in our updated 2020 Fees and Dates brochure, attached.
As well as year-round General English Juniors courses in the UK, in 2020 we are also launching our first General English Juniors course in the USA at St Giles New York City. Available during the Summer, the course will allow students the chance to enjoy a taste of New York City, whilst studying in a modern and friendly school. We will be offering our General English Juniors Standard Course, with 28 lessons and 3 activities per week.
We are also delighted to be able to offer a new General English Juniors Light Course at St Giles New York City, with 20 lessons and 7 supervised activities, ideal for Under 16s looking for a less intensive course! This option has also now been added to our attached 2020 Fees and Dates brochure and we will be sharing a sample timetable for this course very soon.
We are also currently producing a useful resource that will tell you more about the changes and answer some of the most common questions. We will be organising a webinar later in the month, where we can answer any questions on the changes. In the meantime, if we can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know.

It is my pleasure to pass on our updated Special Offer for our partners, which now includes the 30% discount for all course lengths at St Giles Cambridge. This offer is valid for bookings received by 3rdJanuary 2020.
I have included below, some selling points of St Giles Cambridge, which hopefully can help with recruiting more students to this school:
The school and building
Our school is close to the station (5 minutes walk) and close to the town centre (10 minutes walk).
Its in a Victorian building that was refurbished through the winter of 2017-2018
Bright classrooms, relaxation and study areas, full and up-to-date technology, including WIFI throughout and interactive whiteboards in each classroom.
A small school, with 8 classrooms, and offer a comfortable and supportive environment to our students, with thestaff available to provide all kinds of support, and a very student-centred environment.
In student feedback for the last quarter, St Giles Cambridge came out first for friendliness, facilities, progress and recommendations.
We have a garden with seating and games (table tennis and table football) and a caf? that serves hot and cold meals and snacks ? and students always comment on the friendliness and readiness to chat of the caf? manager, Rose.
Our students
We have welcomed wonderful students from 28 nationalities this year, and students aged 14 to 73; our top nationalities are Saudi Arabian, Turkish, Swiss and Italian, and the average age is 23.1. Some example comments for why our students would recommend our school:
Ill recommend St Giles because I really enjoyed my studying there. Very friendly and helpful staff, my homestay was excellent, and I liked so much lessons, it was very interesting and informative, in the same time it was very fun!:) (Alena Bolshakova, aged 20, Russian, March 2019)
I love you and Cambridge and the accommodation and how you manage to help all of your students in their journey (Carolina Montenegro, aged 18, Argentinian, March 2019)
Because St Giles is very friendly and the lessons are interesting. I could improve my English and made great new friends all over the world. Additionally, I felt really welcome and every morning I was happy to go to school because of the atmosphere there. (Serena Struder, 18, Swiss, June 2019)
This medium size school is always full of joy and both the staff and teachers are excellent. (Aya Kitashiro, 22, Japanese, June 2019)
Because teachers are really helpful and very friendly and I learnt in 2 weeks in St Giles more than 1 year in my country (Loic Tom Dugerdil, 16, Swiss, July 2019)
In my opinion everything was perfect (Giovanni Diddi, Italian, 15, July 2019)
The courses we run
Our teachers are managed by Sarah Marsden, Director of Studies (DosCambridge@stgiles.co.uk ? please feel free to ask her any course-related questions).
Teachers follow course books to give structure to our courses, but also negotiate course content with the students, as part of the course and during 1:1 Feedback that happens each Friday. This ensures students are guided in their learning, but also that we fulfil our aim: to provide a high quality, student focussed learning environment and to focus on students real and practical needs.
We run General English, Cambridge and IELTS preparation courses, English plus English for Business and English plus English for University Studies, English for Beginners and Junior courses.
Groups can mix with our international classes, or chose a bespoke content for closed courses.
Our social programme
Our lively social programme offers students a chance to know Cambridge and surrounding areas better, to have fun, and to practice their English as well as other skills they may have.
Activities include trips to museums and local and less-local outings, drama, conversation, sport, arts and crafts. Theres something for everyone.
The programme is managed by Lea Han?kov?, teacher and Social Programme Officer (socialCambridge@stgiles.co.uk ? please feel free to ask her any social programme- or leisure-related questions). Lea also regularly updates our Instagram profile #stgiles_cambridge
Our accommodation
We provide homestay or residential accommodation.
Our homestay hosts are in regular contact about bookings and to make sure we have up-to-date information, and our team visits their houses to make sure the accommodation is suitable.
Our residence has fantastic facilities, with kitchen and bathroom facilities inside each studio, and central shared facilities such as a cinema, gym and pool and a relaxation area.
Please ask Samantha Benedetto, our Accommodation Officer, sbenedetto@stgiles.co.uk for further information.
