Hello from SD22 International Student Program,
We have received some wonderful news regarding travel ban exemptions in Canada. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) office has confirmed that all K-12 schools in British Columbia have met the necessary requirements for accepting International students to study in-person. Our school district has signed the Confirmation of Readiness to Receive International Student forms, which means that we have been added to the Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list.
Starting October 20th, 2020, our international students that meet all federal requirements for travel, will be able to enter Canada. To meet the requirements, you will need to have a valid Study Permit or Official Letter of Approval (Introduction).
If your students enrollment starts in our second quarter (November 2020), you will receive another email today from our office with information regarding to arrival, documentation required and quarantine.
*Please note that if your student was to start in September 2020, but the border closures did not allow for them to arrive, we have moved their enrollment date to November 23rd, 2020, which is the updated start of our second quarter. This will allow for our students to join a designated cohort (student group) at their school, which follows our COVID-19 guidelines in British Columbia*
If your student`s enrollment starts in our third quarter (February 2021), you will receive an email from our office with information regarding to arrival, documentation required and quarantine by December 1st, 2020. In the meantime, we ask that you send us a copy of your Study Permit or Official Letter of Approval (Introduction) as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Tracy Godfrey,
